Community Outings

Community outings provide meaningful access to a wide range of activities, experiences, and public spaces that encourage participation, exploration, and connection. Through these outings, individuals enjoy opportunities such as lunch and tours at local Brookdale Community College, visits to Bell Works, enriching shopping experiences, seasonal trips to the community beach, time at recreational parks, bowling, tennis/pickleball courts, bowling, matinee movie experiences, nature walks, and outings to the local Boardwalk Pavilions.

Together, these experiences help individuals become more familiar with their community, build confidence in navigating everyday environments, and gain meaningful access to social, recreational, and educational opportunities. By taking part in these outings, participants strengthen independence, develop comfort in community settings, and enjoy experiences that enhance connection, well-being, and overall quality of life.

One of our favorite destinations is Bayshore Waterfront Park, located just three minutes from our center. This nearby setting offers a variety of seasonal opportunities, including swimming during the summer and brisk walks throughout the cooler fall and winter months. We also enjoy regular excursions along the Hudson Trail, just outside our backyard, where participants can experience fresh air, movement, and the natural beauty of the surrounding community.
