Culinary Experiences
Cooking in our fully equipped kitchen gives individuals meaningful opportunities to develop practical culinary and food preparation skills that support greater independence in everyday life. Participants learn a wide range of abilities, including basic cooking techniques, safe utensil and appliance use, portion control for healthier eating, baking, simple lunch and meal preparation, and the ability to follow recipes that range from simple to more complex. These hands-on experiences also strengthen planning, sequencing, decision-making, and confidence while encouraging responsibility and creativity in the kitchen. Our space is equipped with major appliances such as a refrigerator, oven, and stove, as well as smaller appliances including a microwave, toaster, and coffee maker, allowing individuals to practice these skills in a safe, structured, and supportive environment.
